Shame on me.

Hey ya'll. I can't believe it's been two months since I've posted. Life has been crazy in this Southern Belle's life. My calendar has been filled with wedding, baby showers, birthday parties and visits with family and friends. Finally it's starting to slow down around here so I'm back and ready to talk. Prince A's birthday is coming up in just a week and a half. I can't believe that my little angel is going to be 3!! We're trying to get ready for all the festivities that surround that glorious day and trust me sugar, it's alot to do. Prince A has requested a Toy Story cake for his birthday. He said he doesn't really want a party just the cake so Mama went all out and Prince A will be blowing out the candles on his very own customized Toy Story cake. Phillip is on vacation from school next week (Lord I pray this next year passes by fast) so we're actually thinking about taking a spur of the moment vacation since I'm also on vacation from work. Keep your finger's crossed for me. I need it.

The Wedding

Happy Saturday ya'll! It's been a busy week and will hopefully be a fun filled weekend. We've got a couple of birthday parties to attend but other than that it should be nice and relaxing. Maybe me and a couple of my favorite girls will be able to sit around and figure out some of my wedding plans. I'm starting to think that a 4 year engagement is getting just a little too long. What about ya'll?

Anyways, I'm starting my planning and I'm tore between two of my favorite color combos for a summer wedding 2011. The crowd favorite, Pink and Green, or one I'm becoming increasingly smitten with, navy, white and yellow. There's this gorgeous venue for the perfect ceremony site located on the river so since N,W & Y theme can be a little bit nautical I just might be perfect.

It feels like it's finally the right time to marry. I know my mama will be tickled pink. She's been talking about this day for the past 5 years.

Here's some pictures with the Navy & Yellow theme.

Well I'm off to do some more course work for CD training. Hope ya'll have a lovely weekend.

One small step

Hey ya'll! Hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday so far! I'm hoping it won't be so hot & humid today. I hate walking outside and having my face fall off within 15 seconds. I've got alot of cleaning to do around the house today and work later this evening so I'm taking the time to sit back, relax and blog right now.

My first exciting news is that Miss Gracie Elizabeth finally decided to bless this world with her appearance on Sunday, June 13th. She's absolutely breath-taking and looks just like KDG! We weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. and 19" long.

KDG is absolutely in love and I have to admit that Miss Gracie has given me a touch of baby fever. Don't worry, I'll get over it. Prince A is quite enough for this Mama right now.

Now that we're done swooning over that precious babe it's time for me to get down to business. I am half way through my Doula certification. I've been slacking for the past couple of weeks but I am definitely ready to pick up some momentum and get this done! I am so excited for my future! Knowing that I am going to help so many wonderful mothers bring their babies into this world excites me to no end and I just know that it's the right choice for me. I am so lucky to have Phillip supporting me through out this journey. He has been so patient, caring and a constant motivator! I'd be lost without him.

Okay ya'll! It's time to clean so maybe I'll have some free time to lay out in the sun (My skin is dying for some vitamin D) and read a good book. Wish me luck!

Saturday with the In-Laws

Happy Sunday ya'll! My boys are still sleeping so this Belle is enjoying a peaceful Sunday morning at the computer. I'm sure it won't last long. Yesterday was our usual Saturday with the In-Laws. Prince A got to swim while his Poppy(Phillip's dad) fired up the grill and made a delicious dinner.

I ate way too much, of course, but it was definitely worth it. P's parents have the most darlin' koi pond in their back yard. I love to just sit beside it and listen to the water fall. I think it's funny that the "norm" is to hate being around your In-Laws but I really do enjoy it. Especially sharing books with P's mom. I took her "The Scandalous Summer of Sissy LeBlanc" and I hope she likes it. I know it was one of my favorite books about living in the South. Ya'll should pick it up if you haven't already! It's a good find.

And now it's time to get everybody ready and start our daily adventures. I'm hoping to get in some 4th of July dress shopping today. Keep your fingers crossed.

Motivation

Happy Friday ya'll! Today is my third day off in a row and I woke up this morning feeling magical. I'm sure it's because I've been getting more than 4 hours of sleep a night but I'm going to give the credit to my working out. That's right ya'll. I've been working out. Before Prince A came along this Southern Belle was a pleasant size 6. Now I'm lucky if I can squeeze my behind in a pair of pants that are double that number. I know, I know, it's been THREE years but those years went by in such a flash that until just recently I didn't realize how unhappy I am in my own skin at times. Finally I've decided to change that! For the past week or so this little Southern Mama has been exercising via the Wii Active. I am obsessed with this because I can get a work out in while Prince A gets some t.v. time. Yesterday I added in a twenty walk at the park yesterday and I'm feeling just amazing. I even had the willpower to resist the second half of my serving of the most delicious Chicken Alfredo I've ever had (I pawned it off on one of Phillip's friends) and only drank one glass of my beloved Dr. Pepper at supper. Progress Dee, Progress. That's what I have to keep telling myself. So on this beautiful Friday morning I'm lacing up my new pair of shoes and hitting the black top! Size 6 see you soon!

My first Pink & Green Thursday!

Happy Thursday ya'll! I've noticed these absolutely darlin' posts in a few blogs that I follow called Pink and Green Thursday and since those just happen to be 2 of my most favorite colors I figured I'd play along and I do believe I'm going to go with a wedding theme on this Pink and Green adventure. Maybe it'll be give me a few more ideas to throw at Phillip.

MooFest

This past weekend was MooFest in my hometown of Athens, TN. Athens is home to the most amazing milk and ice cream provider in the entire world ya'll! I'm sure you've got the wonderful opportunity to enjoy a Mayfield's product but if ya'll haven't then bless your heart.

Anyways, MooFest lasts for two days. They close off downtown and provide amazing entertainment, food, crafts, a carnival and just a good ole' time. Next year I plan on taking part in the Scoop Stackin' contest. I do believe I'm graceful enough to beat this year's current winner at 12 scoops.

It's a fun little time where our community gets together and share laughs and memories. I can't wait until my favorite Athen's festival starts up, Pumpkintown! Halloween is my absolutely favorite holiday so I always get excited when I see the decorations going up when I drive through downtown.
